Synthesis of new conformationally rigid parametric α-amino acids

A pyrroline nitroxide based cyclic tetrasubstituted α-amino acid and paramagnetic homoproline and their derivatives are described. Introduction of a new paramagnetic protecting group to follow the incorporation of an amino acid into peptides by EPR is also suggested.
