As a result of the reactions of the sodium salts of 3-tert-butyl-6-methyluracil and 3-tert-butyl-5-chloro-6-methyluracil with trichloroacryloyl chloride 1-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)-5-tert-butyl-6-methyluracil and 1-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)-3-tert-butyl-5-chloro-6-methyluracil were obtained instead of the products from N-acylation of the uracils.This corresponds to the reaction of the uracils (I, II) with the dichlorovinylketene formed as a result of the elimination of chlorine by the trichloroacryloyl chloride molecule.
