Regiodirected Substitution of Paracyclophanedienes and Paracyclophanes through Tricarbonylchromium Complexation
Staebbe, Michael,Reiser, Oliver,Thiemann, Thies,Daniels, Rhys G.,Meijere, Armin de
, p. 2353 - 2356 (1986)
4,7-dialkoxyparacyclophanes and the corresponding 1,9-dienes are shown to undergo selective complexation with Cr(CO)3L3-reagents on their less substituted benzene moiety.Lithiation/silylation of these complexes leads to arene- or bridge-substitution, respectively. An analogous behaviour is observed for the tricarbonylchromiumparacyclophane and its 1,9-diene.
Treatment of Dimethoxyparacyclophanes with Ammonium Cerium(IV) Nitrate

, p. 2076 - 2082 (2007/10/02)
The treatment of dimethoxyparacyclophanes (n=7-12) (5), paracyclothiophenophane (13), and dimethoxyparacyclophane (8) with CAN in MeCN-water afforded 2,4-cyclohexadien-1-ones 9, paracyclophanedione 10, the ring-opened esters 11, and keton
