10-exo-Bromoalkylidene- and benzylidenedeoxoartemisinins were synthesized from corresponding 10-alkanesulfonyldihydroartemisinin and 10-phenylmethanesulfonyldihydroartemisinin using a highly efficient, mild, and simple Ramberg-Baecklund rearrangement.
