Ligand Scrambling in Bismuth(III) Dithiocarbamates

Dithiocarbamate moieties are found to be labile in bismuth(III) dithiocarbamates as in other metal dithiocarbamates.Unsymmetric mixed ligand dithiocarbamates are formed by ligand scrambling while mixing simple symmetrical dithiocarbamates in non-polar solvents.Elemental analyses, electronic, ir and nmr spectral studies showed that these complexes are identical with those derived from halo bisdithiocarbamates.
