Pauson-Khand reactions of functionalized allenes with different alkynes give cyclopentenones with generally high regio-and stereoselectivities. The allenes react through their external double bonds, giving cyclopentenones with exocyclic double bond at their β positions and predominantly with E stereochemistry.
