The invention provides a preparation and purification method of undecylenamidopropyl betaine. According to the method, residual chloroacetic acid is removed through ammonia water, and chloroacetic acid is converted into glycine, so that the weight ratio of undecylenamidopropyl betaine is less than one part per million.
