The kinetics of the diene condensation of the N-(o-X-phenyl)imides of cis-4-cyclohexene- and cis,cis-3-methyl-4-cyclohexene-1,2-dicarboxylic acids with hexachlorocyclopentadiene in nitrobenzene were investigated by a polarographic method.The kinetic and thermodynamic activation parameters of the reaction were determined.The reactivity of the investigated N-arylimides depends little on the position of the substituents in the aromatic ring.
