Copper(II) complexes of general composition, Cu(ligand)2X2, where X=Cl, Br, NO3 or 0.5 SO4 and ligand=semicarbazones of acetone, ethyl methyl ketone and cyclohexanone have been prepared and characterised by elemental analysis, magnetic moments, electronic infrared and electron spin resonance spectral studies.The chloro, bromo and nitrato complexes are hexa-coordinated and octahedral.The sulphato complex of acetone semicarbazone is square pyrimidal and those of ethylmethyl ketone and cyclohexanone are trigonal bipyramidal.
