, p. 504 - 510 (2002)
A series of tight binding carbonic anhydrase (CA) activators was obtained by reaction of amino-azoles (3-amino-pyrazole, 2-amino-imidazole, and 5-amino-tetrazole) with tri- or tetrasubstituted pyrylium salts. Many of the new pyridinium salts incorporating

Ten mesomeric betaines of the pyridinium azolate class have been prepared from the corresponding pyridinium azole salts.Theoretical calculations (MNDO), experimental dipole moments (10 to 19 D), 1H and 13C NMR spectra, and X-ray structure of pyridinium benzimidazolate inner salts 3 and 17 have been used to determine the electronic and molecular structure of these compounds.

, p. 734 - 735 (2007/10/02)
Theoretical calculation have been carried out and experimental dipole moments measured for several pyridinium azolate inner salts; depending on the substituent on the pyridinium ring the compounds are either planar, almost freely rotating molecules, or ar
