A new synthetic approach to the cerebroactive compound (+)-(R)-α-[(S)-1-[(3,3-di-3-thienylally)amino]ethyl]benzyl alcohol (1) (tinofedrine), its stereoisomers and related derivatives is reported. Several compounds increased blood flow in the arteriae vertebralis and femoralis of anesthesized dog.
