Versatility and synthetic potential of 1-(trimethylsilyloxy)-1,3-butadiene, 1-(trimethylsilyloxy)penta-1,3-diene, and their methyl substituted derivatives have been demonstrated in a modular synthetic methodology of stereodefined π-conjugated unsymmetrical, symmetrical two-dimensional, and octupolar polyenal structure.
