Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 6808-35-1 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 6,8,0 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 6808-35:
(6*6)+(5*8)+(4*0)+(3*8)+(2*3)+(1*5)=111
111 % 10 = 1
So 6808-35-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Condensation of ?-hydroxyacetophenone with benzaldehyde in alcohol in the presence of a triple excess of a sodium hydroxide solution leads to 2′-hydroxychalcone sodium salt. The latter was heated with boron trifluoride etherate in toluene to a 2′-hydroxychalcone boron fluoride complex in which the boron atom is coordinated to the carbonyl oxygen atom. The same complex was obtained by boiling of the ?-hydroxyacetophenone boron fluoride complex with benzaldehyde in acetic anhydride.
