Aryl-substituted phenothiazinyl-enones I. Synthesis and structural NMR assignments

Compounds belonging to a new group of phenothiazine derivatives, the aryl-substituted phenothiazinyl-enones, were synthesized by condensation of N-methyl-formyl-phenothiazine derivatives with several substituted acetophenones or diacetylpyridine in basic media. The new chalcones and bichalcones thus obtained were characterised by high resolution NMR experiments.
