Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 68118-00-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 6,8,1,1 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 68118-00:
(7*6)+(6*8)+(5*1)+(4*1)+(3*8)+(2*0)+(1*0)=123
123 % 10 = 3
So 68118-00-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Complementary Photocatalytic Toolbox: Control of Intramolecular endo-versus exo-trig Cyclizations of α-Phenyl Olefins to Oxaheterocyclic Products

Belov, Arina,Steuernagel, Desirée,Wagenknecht, Hans-Achim,Weick, Fabian

, (2022/03/03)

The regioselectivity of the intramolecular cyclization of bifunctional α-phenyl alkenes can be controlled simply by the choice of the organic chromophore as the photocatalyst. The central photoredox catalytic reaction in both cases is a nucleophilic addition of the hydroxyl function to the olefin function of the substrates. N,N-(4-Diisobutylaminophenyl) phenothiazine catalyzes exo-trig cyclizations, whereas 1,7-dicyanoperylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic acid bisimides catalyze endo-trig additions to products with anti-Markovnikov regioselectivity. We preliminarily report the photoredox catalytic conversions of 11 representative substrates into 20 oxaheterocycles in order to demonstrate the similarity, but also the complementarity, of these two variants in this photoredox catalytic toolbox.

Synthesis of Chiral 1,4-Benzodioxanes and Chromans by Enantioselective Palladium-Catalyzed Alkene Aryloxyarylation Reactions

Hu, Naifu,Li, Ke,Wang, Zheng,Tang, Wenjun

, p. 5044 - 5048 (2016/04/26)

A highly enantioselective alkene aryloxyarylation led to the high-yielding formation of a series of 1,4-benzodioxanes, 1,4-benzooxazines, and chromans containing quaternary stereocenters with excellent enantioselectivity. The sterically bulky and conformationally well defined chiral monophosphorus ligand L4 or L5 was responsible for the high reactivity and enantioselectivity of these transformations. The application of this method to the synthesis of the chiral chroman backbone of α-tocopherol was demonstrated. One P is plenty: A sterically bulky and conformationally well defined chiral monophosphorus ligand enabled the highly enantioselective synthesis of a series of Oheterocycles containing a quaternary stereocenter by alkene aryloxyarylation (see scheme; X=O, C, N). The application of this transformation to the synthesis of the chiral chroman backbone of α-tocopherol is demonstrated.

Synthesis of chromans via Pd-catalyzed alkene carboetherification reactions

Ward, Amanda F.,Xu, Yan,Wolfe, John P.

, p. 609 - 611 (2012/01/14)

A new method for the construction of 2-substituted and 2,2-disubstituted chromans via Pd-catalyzed carboetherification reactions between aryl/alkenyl halides and 2-(but-3-en-1-yl)phenols is described. These reactions effect formation of a C-O bond and a C-C bond to afford the chroman products in good yield, and also provide stereoselective access to tricyclic chroman derivatives.
