68298-38-4 Usage
Uses
Used in Plastics Industry:
DI-N-BUTYLBIS(1-THIOGLYCEROL)TIN is used as a heat stabilizer for the production of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and other plastic products. It helps to prevent the degradation of plastics when exposed to heat, ensuring their longevity and performance.
Used in Metal Coating Industry:
DI-N-BUTYLBIS(1-THIOGLYCEROL)TIN is used as an anti-corrosive agent in metal coatings. It provides a protective layer on metal surfaces, preventing corrosion and extending the life of the coated materials.
Used in Chemical Industry:
DI-N-BUTYLBIS(1-THIOGLYCEROL)TIN is used as a catalyst in various chemical reactions. Its catalytic properties enable faster and more efficient reactions, making it a valuable component in the production of various chemicals.
However, it is important to handle DI-N-BUTYLBIS(1-THIOGLYCEROL)TIN with care as it can be toxic to aquatic organisms and may cause skin and eye irritation in humans. Proper safety measures should be taken during its use to minimize potential risks.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 68298-38-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 6,8,2,9 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 68298-38:
(7*6)+(6*8)+(5*2)+(4*9)+(3*8)+(2*3)+(1*8)=174
174 % 10 = 4
So 68298-38-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Hydroxyl-containing organotin catalysts for making polyurethanes
-
, (2008/06/13)
Useful as catalysts for the reaction of a polyisocyanate or a partially blocked polyisocyanate with a hydroxyl-containing compound are hydroxyl-containing organotins such as, for example, compounds of formulas I-III STR1 where R is a C1 -C8 alkyl or an aryl group; R1 is a C2 -C22 divalent hydrocarbyl group which may contain a hydroxyl substituent; X is a linking group which may be --O--, --S-- or --O2 C--; Y is a hydroxyl-containing C3 -C5 alkylene group; Y' is a C1 -C9 divalent hydrocarbyl group; Z is divalent organic linking group; and n is 0 or 1. Suitable hydroxyl-containing organotin compounds would also include polymeric organotin compounds prepared by the reaction of a diorganotin oxide or diorganotin dichloride with HSCH2 CH(OH)CH2 XH, preferably in a 1:0.5-1 molar ratio, where X is --S-- or --O--.
