Used in Agriculture:
Benfuresate is used as a herbicide for weed control in various crops such as cereals, rice, and soybeans. It works by inhibiting photosynthesis, interfering with the electron transport chain in chloroplasts, and disrupting the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and other essential cellular processes, ultimately leading to the death of the target weeds.
