Z-His(imZ)-Phe-OMe is a synthetic peptide consisting of three amino acid residues: Z-protected histidine (His) with an imidazole side chain (imZ), phenylalanine (Phe), and a methoxy group (OMe) at the C-terminus. Z-His(imZ)-Phe-OMe is often used in peptide synthesis and research, as the Z-group (benzyloxycarbonyl) serves as a protecting group for the N-terminal amino group, preventing unwanted side reactions during peptide bond formation. The imidazole side chain in histidine provides a unique chemical environment, which can be crucial for studying protein-protein interactions or enzyme activity. The presence of phenylalanine introduces hydrophobic and aromatic characteristics to the peptide, while the methoxy group at the C-terminus can influence solubility and reactivity. Overall, Z-His(imZ)-Phe-OMe is a versatile peptide with potential applications in various biochemical and biophysical studies.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 68802-74-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 6,8,8,0 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 68802-74:
(7*6)+(6*8)+(5*8)+(4*0)+(3*2)+(2*7)+(1*4)=154
154 % 10 = 4
So 68802-74-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A rapid and efficient synthesis of β-casomorphin employing Boc-amino acids and 9-fluorenylmethyl chloroformate as a coupling agent

Babu, V.V. Suresh,Tantry

, p. 2708 - 2712 (2007/10/03)

The synthesis of β-casomorphin H-Tyr-Pro-Phe-Pro-Gly-OH employing Boc group for Nα-protection and 9-fluorenylmethyl chloroformate (Fmoc-Cl) for the formation of peptide bond is described. The protocol employing Fmoc-Cl as coupling reagent is found to be simple, efficient and rapid. All the intermediate peptides as well as the final protected peptide Boc-Tyr( iBu)-Pro-Phe-Pro-Gly-OMe have been isolated and fully characterized. They have been obtained in good yield and with high purity.
