6887-36-1 Usage
Description
This alkaloid was first isolated by Manske from Lobelia cardinalis L. It crystallizes with difficulty from EtOH yielding colourless prisms and has [o:l54 + 22.3°
(CHCI 3). The hydrochloride sesquihydrate has m.p. 220°C. Oxidation of the
alkaloid with KMn04 yields benzoic acid. Pharmacologically, the alkaloid shows
few, if any, of the typical characteristics of lobeline (q.v.).

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 6887-36-1 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 6,8,8 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 6887-36:
(6*6)+(5*8)+(4*8)+(3*7)+(2*3)+(1*6)=141
141 % 10 = 1
So 6887-36-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
