Carane 4,5-epoxide is a chemical compound derived from the terpene carane, which is a bicyclic monoterpene found in various plants and essential oils. It is formed through the epoxidation of carane, a process that involves the addition of an oxygen atom to a double bond, creating an epoxide ring. carane 4,5-epoxide is of interest in organic chemistry and may have potential applications in the synthesis of various pharmaceuticals and fragrances due to its unique structure and reactivity. However, it is important to note that the specific properties, uses, and safety considerations of carane 4,5-epoxide would require further research and documentation for a comprehensive understanding.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 6909-20-2 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 6,9,0 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 6909-20:
(6*6)+(5*9)+(4*0)+(3*9)+(2*2)+(1*0)=112
112 % 10 = 2
So 6909-20-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Ionic liquid-catalyzed internal redox esterification reaction

Yu, Yinyin,Hua, Li,Zhu, Wenwen,Shi, Yu,Cao, Ting,Qiao, Yunxiang,Hou, Zhenshan

, p. 1287 - 1298 (2013)

The internal redox esterification of α,β-unsaturated aldehydes and alcohols was carried out using different ionic liquids (ILs) as catalysts and reaction solvents. The basic ionic liquid, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate ([bmim]OAc), exhibited the best activity for this reaction. The influences of the amount of ionic liquid catalyst and reaction time on yield of saturated ester have been investigated. The results showed that ionic liquid anions have a crucial effect on the redox esterification of α,β- unsaturated aldehydes and alcohols. The nucleophilic carbenes generated in situ from the ionic liquid cation were believed to be actual active species for this reactions.
