7097-60-1 Usage
Uses
Used in Water Decontamination:
Tetraglycine hydroperiodide is used as a decontaminant for drinking water in emergencies. It is used in amounts sufficient to yield 8 ppm of active iodine, which helps to eliminate harmful substances and pathogens from the water. A tablet containing 20 mg of Tetraglycine hydroperiodide, along with 96 mg of Na2H2PO7 and 4 mg of talc, can decontaminate one quart of water. However, it is worth noting that Tetraglycine hydroperiodide is less stable than aluminum hexaurea sulfate triiodide, as it retains only 60% of its original active iodine after 7 days of storage at 60°.
