Synthesis, structures, characterization, dynamic behavior, and reactions of novel late transition metal(II) 1-azaallyls

The preparation of homoleptic late transition metal (II) 1-azaallyl compounds by reactions with anhydrous late transition metal halides with the appropriate lithium or potassium 1-azallyl KL(1) was described. Single-crystal X-ray analysis of showed that the 1-azaallyl was bounded to the metal center in an η3-NCC mode in the mononuclear compounds. The diagramatic group 10 metal 1-azaallyl compounds were fully characterized by multinuclear NMR sepctroscopy and were found to be mixture of isomers. The results of the variable-temperature and variable-temperature saturation transfer NMR spectroscopic experiments show that the isomers of each of the compounds are to be involved in a dynamic process.
