The crystal structure, synthesis, and thermal properties of poly[[aquaneodymium(III)]-μ3-decane-1, 10-dicarboxylato- μ3-9-carboxynonanecarboxylato], a lanthanide metal-organic framework compound (MOF), was investigated. The structure of the sample contained a single crystallographically unique Nd site, within the coordination sphere of which there were two modes of bonding for the carboxylic acids. It was observed that the edge-shared chains of NdO8(H2O) tricapped trigonal prisms resulted from the polymerization of Nd3+ centers through bridging tridenate carboxylate groups on the sebacic acid molecules. The crystalline structure of the sample was retained after dehydration at 423 K.
