72884-85-6 Usage
General Description
2'-(tert-butyl)-6'-(diethylamino)spiro[isobenzofuran-1(3H),9'-[9H]xanthene]-3-one, also known as Fluorescein, is a synthetic organic compound used as a fluorescent tracer for many applications, including in biological research and medical diagnostics. It is made up of a spiro compound with a xanthene backbone, and the substitution of tert-butyl and diethylamino groups at specific positions. Fluorescein has a high molar absorptivity, which makes it an effective dye for biological staining and tracing, as well as a colorant for food and cosmetic products. It is also used as a pH indicator and in analytical chemistry for measuring calcium and other metal ions. Additionally, Fluorescein has been employed in the production of fluorescein angiography and in ophthalmic procedures.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 72884-85-6 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,2,8,8 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 72884-85:
(7*7)+(6*2)+(5*8)+(4*8)+(3*4)+(2*8)+(1*5)=166
166 % 10 = 6
So 72884-85-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
