General Description

C19:1 (CIS-10) Acid, also known as Vaccenic acid, is a naturally occurring fatty acid found in the fat of ruminants and in dairy products such as milk, butter, and yogurt. It is a type of monounsaturated fat that is considered to have several potential health benefits, including reduced risk of heart disease and anti-inflammatory properties. This fatty acid is also a precursor to conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a type of fat that is thought to have various health benefits. Despite being a trans fat, Vaccenic acid does not appear to have the same negative effects on heart health as industrial trans fats.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 73033-09-7 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,3,0,3 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 73033-09:
(7*7)+(6*3)+(5*0)+(4*3)+(3*3)+(2*0)+(1*9)=97
97 % 10 = 7
So 73033-09-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

THE CHAIN LENGTHENING OF ALIPHATIC ALDEHYDES WITH THE AID OF "NUCLEOPHILIC CARBENE"

Doleschall, Gabor

, p. 4183 - 4186 (2007/10/02)

The addition of "nucleophilic carbene" on 1,2,4-triazole bases (2) and aldehydes is decisively influenced by the anion present. 5-(α-Hydroxyalkyl)-1,2,4-triazolium chlorides, formed in the addition reaction of 3-methylthio-1,4-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazolium chloride (1c) with aldehydes, can be easily reduced to 5-alkyl-1,2,4-triazolium iodides (5).Reduction of these with NaBH4 affords aldehydes by acidic hydrolysis or carboxylic acids by alkaline hydrolysis, the carbon chain of which has been lengthened by one CH2 group, as compared to the starting aldehyde.
