The gaschromatographic analysis of the raw material obtained by the addition of thiophenol to tricyclo2,7>heptane (1) showed that the ratio of 6-endo-(phenylthio)norpinane (3a) to 6-exo-(phenylthio)norpinane (3b) was at least 27000 : 1.
