Halogenated terpenoids. XXX: The bromocamphorenic acids and the dibromocampholides, and their formation from α,α-dibromocamphor

The structures of the bromocamphorenic acids obtained by oxidative rearrangement of α,αdibromocamphor are now corrected. The structures of four dibromocampholides in the same series are also reported, and a mechanism to account for the formation of the compounds is proposed.
