Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 74441-40-0 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,4,4,4 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 74441-40:
(7*7)+(6*4)+(5*4)+(4*4)+(3*1)+(2*4)+(1*0)=120
120 % 10 = 0
So 74441-40-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

experimental part, p. 1117 - 1121 (2011/11/04)

Some new 4-(aryl)-2,6-di-2-naphthylpyridines and 4-(aryl)-2,6-di-2- thienylpyridines have been prepared through three-component condensation of 2-acetylnaphthalene or 2-acetylthiophene, aromatic aldehydes, and ammonium acetate in presence of 1-(4-sulfonyl

Studies on Cycloimmonium Ylides: Synthesis of Some New 2,4,6-Trisubstituted Pyridines. 2

Tewari, Ram S.,Chaturvedi, Suresh C.,Nagpal, Dinesh K.

, p. 293 - 295 (2007/10/02)

A wide range of 2,6-di(thienyl)-4-arylpyridines, 2-(4-biphenyl)-4-aryl-6-(2-thienyl)pyridines, and 2-(4-biphenyl)-4-aryl-6-(2-naphthyl)pyridines have have been synthesized by the interaction of 1-(2-thiophenoylmethyl)pyridinium iodide, 1-(4-phenylphenacyl)pyridinium bromide, and 1-(2-naphthoylmethyl)pyridinium bromide with a variety of α,β-unsaturated ketones.Ammonium acetate in glacial acetic acid was used as cyclization agent. The structures of the resulting products were confirmed by IR and NMR spectral analyses.
