A new pterocarpan, hydroxycristacarpone, was isolated from the wood of Erythrina orientalis and the structure was established as a 11b- hydroxydienone. Three known compounds, the pterocarpan, crystacarpin and the isoflavones osajin and wighteone, were also characterized.
