Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 74693-57-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,4,6,9 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 74693-57:
(7*7)+(6*4)+(5*6)+(4*9)+(3*3)+(2*5)+(1*7)=165
165 % 10 = 5
So 74693-57-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Several 1-alkyl-4-acetoxy-3-carbostyrils (IIIa-f) and 1-alkyl-4-hydroxycarbostyril-3-(2'-heteroarylidene)carbohydrazides (IVa-f) have been prepared and evaluated for their biological activities. Some of the compounds reported display moderate anti-amoebic and anti-inflammatory activities. The heteroarylidene derivative (IVb) is found to possess antitrichomonal activity in vitro comparable to that of metronidazole. However, all these compounds are completely inactive against bacteria, fungi and helminths.
