Michael Reactions of the Anions generated by the Metal-Ammonia Reduction of Benzoic Acids
Rao, G. S. R. Subba,Ramanathan, Halasya,Raj, Kanwal
, p. 315 - 316 (1980)
A novel method for the construction of carbon-carbon bonds is described in which anions obtained by the metal-ammonia reduction of benzoic acid and its derivatives undergo ready Michael reaction with methyl crotonate to give the addition products.
Synthesis based on cyclohexadienes: Part 6 - A new total synthesis of (+/-)-methyl acorate and (+/-)-methyl epi-acorate
Ramanathan, Halasya,Rao, G S R Subba
, p. 901 - 905 (2007/10/02)
A new method of construction of carbon-carbon bond is described. Thus the dianions generated from the metal-ammonia reduction of substituted benzoic acids readily undergo Michael addition with methyl crotonate resulting in synthetically useful products hav
