Synthesis of 2-methyl-4-(o- and p-benzylidene-aminobenzoyloxy)quinoline derivatives (IIa-p and IIIa-n) is reported. They have been evaluated for their anticonvulsant activity which varies from 30 to 80 percent. These derivatives are prepared by the reaction of o- and p-benzylideneaminobenzoic acid chlorides with substituted 4-hydroxyquinolines (I).
