7493-78-9 Usage
Uses
Used in Hair Cosmetics Industry:
ALPHA-N-AMYL CINNAMYL ACETATE is used as a fragrant substance for hair cosmetics, providing a pleasant and appealing scent to the products. Its unique combination of fruity, green, and balsamic notes contributes to the overall sensory experience of the hair care products, making them more attractive to consumers.
Preparation
From amyl cinnamic alcohol and acetic acid under azeotropic conditions
Safety Profile
Moderately toxic skin irritant. When heated to decomposition it emits acrid smoke andirritating fumes.
Metabolism
Cinnamic alcohol is mainly metabolized to benzoic acid, presumably via cinnamic
acid. Substitution apparently prevents oxidation to benzoic acid, since 2-ethylcinnamic alcohol is
partly excreted as α-ethylcinnamic acid (30-33% in rabbits) (Williams, 1959).
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 7493-78-9 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 7,4,9 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 7493-78:
(6*7)+(5*4)+(4*9)+(3*3)+(2*7)+(1*8)=129
129 % 10 = 9
So 7493-78-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
