Phosphorane, ethyltetrafluoro-, also known as ethylphosphonium tetrafluoride or (C2H5)3PF4, is a phosphorus-containing organophosphorus compound. It is a colorless, highly reactive, and moisture-sensitive solid, which is widely used as a catalyst in various chemical reactions, particularly in the synthesis of fluoropolymers and fluorinated compounds. The molecule consists of a central phosphorus atom bonded to three ethyl groups and four fluorine atoms, exhibiting a trigonal bipyramidal geometry. Due to its high reactivity and sensitivity to moisture, it is essential to handle Phosphorane, ethyltetrafluoro- under anhydrous conditions and in an inert atmosphere to prevent unwanted side reactions.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 753-82-2 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 7,5 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 753-82:
(5*7)+(4*5)+(3*3)+(2*8)+(1*2)=82
82 % 10 = 2
So 753-82-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

The reaction of phosphorus pentafluoride and tetraalkyltin compounds

Treichel,Goodrich, Ruth A.

, p. 1424 - 1428 (1965)

Alkyltetrafluorophosphoranes can be prepared in good yield by the room temperature reaction of phosphorus pentafluoride and tetraalkyltin compounds. Careful investigation of the stoichiometry of this reaction indicates that this reaction is not as straightforward as one might expect, however. In all of the reactions attempted some of the phosphorus was retained in the nonvolatile residue of the reaction. Evidence is presented which indicates that this residue contains a complex of the formula R3SnPF6, whose structure is probably similar to other known compounds R3SnX (X = ClO4, BF4, AsF6, and SbF6).
