Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
1-(NAPHTHALEN-1-YLOXY)-3-PIPERAZIN-1-YL-PROPAN-2-OL is used as an impurity in the production of Naftopidil (N213501), an α-1-adrenergic receptor antagonist and an antihypertensive agent. Its presence in the manufacturing process may affect the efficacy and safety of the final product, and therefore, it is important to monitor and control its levels during the synthesis and formulation of Naftopidil.

These cardioselective compounds have calcium entry blockade properties and therefore are useful in therapy in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, including arrhythmias, variant and exercise induced angina and myocardial infarction.
