Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 75679-69-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,5,6,7 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 75679-69:
(7*7)+(6*5)+(5*6)+(4*7)+(3*9)+(2*6)+(1*9)=185
185 % 10 = 5
So 75679-69-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis and Biological Activity of 4-Alkylthio-1,2-dithiolanes and Related Compounds

Mitsudera, Hiroyuki,Kamikado, Toshiya,Uneme, Hideki,Kono, Yoshiaki

, p. 1719 - 1722 (2007/10/02)

A series of 4-alkylthio-1,2-dithiolanes were synthesized from S,S'-(2-alkylthiotrimethylene)di(benzenethiosulfonates), and their biological activities were tested on Culex pipience molestus, Laodelphax striatellus and Tetranichus urticae. These compounds showed potent activity against both insect species, the strongest being displayed by 4-ethylthio-1,2-dithiolane and 4-isopropylthio-1,2-dithiolane.

A SIMPLE SYNTHESIS OF 4-METHYLTHIO-1,2-DITHIOLANE: THE PHOTOSYNTHESIS INHIBITOR OF THE GREEN ALGA CHARA GLOBULARIS

Block, Eric,Eswarakrishnan, Venkatachalam

, p. 101 - 104 (2007/10/02)

4-Methylthio-1,2-dithiolane, 1, a photosynthesis inhibitor from Chara globularis, has been synthesized from allyl methyl sulfide in 76percent overall yield.Derivatives of 1 which have also been prepared include 4-methylthio-1,2-dithiolane 1-oxide, 4-methylsulfonyl-1,2-dithiolane, and 4-methylsulfonyl-1,2-dithiolane 1,1-dioxide.

SYNTHESIS OF 4-METHYLTHIO-1,2-DITHIOLANE AND 5-METHYLTHIO-1,2,3-TRITHIANE. TWO NATURALLY OCCURING BIOACTIVE COMPOUNDS

Anthoni, U.,Christophersen, C.,Jacobsen, N.,Svendsen, A.

, p. 2425 - 2427 (2007/10/02)

Syntheses of the title compounds are described.A method has been developed for the synthesis of 2-methylthio-1,3-propanedithiol, which on treatment with iodine or sulphurdichloride yields 4-methylthio-1,2-dithiolane and 5-methylthio-1,2,3-trithiane respectively.
