Synthesis of fullerohelicates and fine tuning of the photoinduced processes by changing the number of addends on the fullerene subunits
Holler, Michel,Cardinali, Fran?ois,Mamlouk, Hind,Nierengarten, Jean-Fran?ois,Gisselbrecht, Jean-Paul,Gross, Maurice,Rio, Yannick,Barigelletti, Francesco,Armaroli, Nicola
, p. 2060 - 2073 (2006)
Two fullerene-substituted m-phenylene-bis-phenanthroline ligands have been prepared. The synthesis of the first derivative (L1) is based on an esterification reaction between a Cs symmetrical cis-2 fullerene bis-adduct bearing a carboxylic acid
A New Ligand Design Based on London Dispersion Empowers Chiral Bismuth-Rhodium Paddlewheel Catalysts
Singha, Santanu,Buchsteiner, Michael,Bistoni, Giovanni,Goddard, Richard,Fürstner, Alois
supporting information, p. 5666 - 5673 (2021/05/05)
Heterobimetallic bismuth-rhodium paddlewheel complexes with phenylglycine ligands carrying TIPS-groups at the meta-positions of the aromatic ring exhibit outstanding levels of selectivity in reactions of donor/acceptor and donor/donor carbenes; at the same time, the reaction rates are much faster and the substrate scope is considerably wider than those of previous generations of chiral [BiRh] catalysts. As shown by a combined experimental, crystallographic, and computational study, the new catalysts draw their excellent application profile largely from the stabilization of the chiral ligand sphere by London dispersion (LD) interactions of the peripheral silyl substituents.
Fullerohelicates: A new class of fullerene-containing supermolecules
Cardinali, Francois,Mamlouk, Hind,Rio, Yannick,Armaroli, Nicola,Nierengarten, Jean-Francois
, p. 1582 - 1583 (2007/10/03)
A multicomponent array made of a bis-copper(I) helicate core and two peripheral fullerene subunits has been prepared and electron transfer from the photoexcited Cu(I)-complexed unit to C60 occurs.
