2,5-Dihydroxy-6-undecyl-1,4-benzoquinone (embelin) extracted from Embelia ribes is condensed with substituted o-phenylenediamines to give substituted phenazines.The products obtained have been screened for their anti-fungal and anti-bacterial activities.
