Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 76185-70-1 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,6,1,8 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 76185-70:
(7*7)+(6*6)+(5*1)+(4*8)+(3*5)+(2*7)+(1*0)=151
151 % 10 = 1
So 76185-70-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

DIMETHOXY AROMATIC COMPOUNDS. II. BROMODEALKYLATION REACTIONS OF meta-DIMETHOXYBENZENE DERIVATIVES

Natoli, Maria C.,Agozzino, Pasquale,Ceraulo, Leopoldo,Lamartina, Liliana

, p. 493 - 502 (2007/10/02)

Comparison of the behaviour of 1,1-bis(dimethoxyphenyl)ethane derivatives towards bromination in different experimental conditions shows that only 2,4-dimethoxy derivatives undergo bromodealkylation processes, the aromatic displacement of the arylethane group occurring only when a high electron density resides at the alkyl-substituted carbon

REACTION OF DIMETHOXYBENZENES WITH ACETYLENE IN THE PRESENCE OF ACIDIC CATALYSTS

Zinov'eva, L. V.,Ryabov, V. D.,Styslovich, T. A.

, p. 1445 - 1449 (2007/10/02)

In the reaction of dimethoxybenzenes with acetylene in the presence of acidic catalysts the corresponding 1,1-diarylethanes are formed as the main products.A trinuclear aromatic compound was also isolated from the products from the reaction of 1,4-dimethoxybenzene with acetylene.Better yields of 1,1-diarylethanes were obtained with H3PO4*BF3 and H2SO4 as catalysts.
