The chemical compound "W(CO)5((CH3S)2CPC6H5(CH3)2)" is a complex organometallic compound consisting of a tungsten (W) center. It features five carbonyl (CO) ligands, which are common in transition metal complexes, providing stability through back-bonding. The compound also includes a bidentate ligand, (CH3S)2CPC6H5(CH3)2, which is a dialkyl-substituted phenylphosphine ligand with two methylthio groups attached to the phosphorus atom. This ligand contributes to the overall stability and electronic properties of the complex. The structure suggests that it could be used in various applications, such as catalysis, due to its ability to form strong π-bonding interactions with the metal center and its potential to stabilize intermediates in catalytic cycles.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 76262-44-7 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,6,2,6 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 76262-44:
(7*7)+(6*6)+(5*2)+(4*6)+(3*2)+(2*4)+(1*4)=137
137 % 10 = 7
So 76262-44-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

aKINETIC STUDIES OF THE REACTIONS OF THE CARBENE COMPLEX W(CO)5 WITH PHOSPHINES TO FORM PHOSPHORANE COMPLEXES W(CO)5 AND THE SYNTHESIS OF SOME CYCLIC PHOSPHORANE COMPLEXES

Pickering, Ruth A.,Angelici, Robert J.

, p. 253 - 264 (2007/10/02)

The dithiocarbene complex W(CO)5 reacts with tertiary phosphines, PPh2CH3, PPh(CH3)2, P(C2H5)3 and P(OCH3)3 to form the phosphorane complexes W(CO)5 and with HPPh2 to form the phosphine complex W(CO)5>.Kinetic studies of both types of reactions show that their rates are first order each in W(CO)5 and in the phosphorus ligand.A mechanism involving rate determining phosphorus attack at the carbene carbon followed by rapid rearrangement to the product is consistent with this rate law.Rate constants for the reactions increase with increasing nucleophilicities of the phosphines: P(OCH3)3 PPh(CH3)2 values decrease (P(OCH3)3 > PPh2H > PPh2(CH3) > PPh(CH3)2 > P(C2H5)3) as the nucleophilicities of the phosphines increase. The ΔS values (ca. -30 e.u.) remain essentially constant for all the reactions. The cyclic dithiocarbenes , where n=3 or 4, react with PPh2(CH3) to form the cyclic phosphorane complexes, .The 6- and 7-membered cyclic dithiocarbenes also react with PPh2H to form the phosphine complexes, .
