Germane, triphenyl(triphenylplumbyl)-, also known as triphenylplumbane, is a chemical compound with the formula (C6H5)3Pb. It is a derivative of lead, where three phenyl groups (C6H5) are attached to the lead atom. This organolead compound is characterized by its high molecular weight and complex structure. Triphenylplumbane is a colorless, crystalline solid that is sensitive to air and moisture, and it is typically stored under an inert atmosphere. It is used in various chemical reactions as a reagent or a precursor to other organolead compounds. Due to its potential toxicity and environmental impact, handling and disposal of triphenylplumbane must be done with caution, following proper safety protocols.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 7649-77-6 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 7,6,4 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 7649-77:
(6*7)+(5*6)+(4*4)+(3*9)+(2*7)+(1*7)=136
136 % 10 = 6
So 7649-77-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

UEBER GEMISCHTE BINDUNGEN IN DER IV. HAUPTGRUPPE I. HEXAPHENYLETHAN-ANALOGA Ph3Pb-MPh3, M = Pb, Sn, Ge, Si

Kleiner, Norbert,Draeger, Martin

, p. 151 - 170 (1984)

The reaction of Ph3PbLi with Ph3SnCl or Ph3GeCl gives Ph3Pb-SnPH3 and Ph3Pb-GePh3, respectively; there is no reaction with Ph3SiCl, PhSiLi reacts with Ph3PbCl to form a regular 1:1 Pb2Ph6*Si2Ph6 phase.The compounds have been investigated by mass, NMR and vibrational spectra: 207Pb NMR chemical shifts with respect to PbMe4 -79.8 (Pb2Ph6), -256.5 (Ph3Pb-SnPh3), -271.5 ppm (Ph3Pb-GePh3); stetching vibrations 112 (Pb-Pb), 125 (Pb-Sn), 138 cm-1 (Pb-Ge).The crystal structures have been determined and refined to R = 0.061 (Ph3Pb-SnPh3, -40 deg C), 0.053 (Ph3Pb-GePh3, -50 deg C), 0.068 (Pb2Ph6*Si2Ph6, 20 deg C); bond lengths 285 (Pb-Pb), 283 (Pb-Sn), 262 pm (Pb-Ge).
