The 13C-n.m.r. spectra of a series enaminothioketones S=C(R1)-C(R2)=CH-NR3R4 have been studied and assigned.HMO-calculations of these compounds - pointing out the ?-electron distribution - are discussed and compared with the 13C-chemical shifts.The investigated enaminothioketones are regarded as compounds with polymethine character and compared with the O-analogous merocyanines.
