2-(2,5-Hexadienyl)benzamide is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C13H13NO. It is an aromatic amide derivative, featuring a benzene ring with an amide group attached at the 2-position and a 2,5-hexadienyl side chain. 2-(2,5-hexadienyl)benzamide is known for its potential applications in the synthesis of various pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals due to its unique structure and reactivity. The 2,5-hexadienyl group provides a conjugated diene system, which can participate in various chemical reactions, such as Diels-Alder reactions, making it a valuable building block in organic synthesis. The compound's properties, such as solubility and stability, can be influenced by the presence of the amide group, which can form hydrogen bonds and engage in other intermolecular interactions.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 76916-63-7 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,6,9,1 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 76916-63:
(7*7)+(6*6)+(5*9)+(4*1)+(3*6)+(2*6)+(1*3)=167
167 % 10 = 7
So 76916-63-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Palladium-Assisted N-Alkylation of Indoles: Attempted Application to Polycyclization

Hegedus, Louis S.,Winton, Peter M.,Varaprath Sudarsanan

, p. 2215 - 2221 (2007/10/02)

The palladium(II) complexes of the olefins ethene, propene, and 1-hexene reacted with 1-lithioindole to produce N-alkylated indoles exclusively.Attempts to perform this N-alkylation intramoleculary (to form tricyclic material from 2-allylskatole) failed.Anilines with dienic side chains in the 2-position were subjected to Pd(II)-assisted cyclization conditions in attempts to induce polycyclization. However, only monocyclization was observed.
