7759-01-5 Usage
Uses
Used in Ceramic Industry:
Lead Tungstate is used as a pigment in the ceramic industry for its white powder properties. Its ability to provide a consistent color and opacity makes it a valuable component in the production of ceramic glazes and enamels.
Used in Scintillator Applications:
Lead Tungstate is used as a scintillator material in the field of radiation detection and imaging. Its high density and efficient light output make it an ideal choice for detecting gamma rays and other high-energy particles. This application is particularly useful in medical imaging, such as PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scanners, as well as in security systems for detecting radioactive materials.
Used in Optoelectronic Devices:
Lead Tungstate is also utilized in the development of optoelectronic devices, such as photodetectors and light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Its unique optical properties, including its wide bandgap and high refractive index, contribute to the performance and efficiency of these devices.
Used in Catalysts:
In the chemical industry, Lead Tungstate serves as a catalyst in various chemical reactions. Its ability to facilitate and enhance the rate of reactions makes it a valuable component in the production of chemicals and materials.
Reactivity Profile
LEAD TUNGSTATE has weak oxidizing or reducing powers. Redox reactions can however still occur. The majority of compounds in this class are slightly soluble or insoluble in water. If soluble in water, then the solutions are usually neither strongly acidic nor strongly basic. These compounds are not water-reactive.
Health Hazard
INHALATION: Joint and muscle pains, headache, dizziness and insomnia. Weakness, frequently of extensor muscles of hand and wrist (unilateral or bilateral). Heavy contamination - Brain damage. Stupor progressing to coma - with or without convulsion, often death. Excitation, confusion, and mania less common. Cerebrospinal pressure may be increased. INGESTION: Abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, loss of appetite, muscular weakness, headache, blue line on gums, metallic taste, nausea and vomiting, joint and muscle pain.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 7759-01-5 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 7,7,5 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 7759-01:
(6*7)+(5*7)+(4*5)+(3*9)+(2*0)+(1*1)=125
125 % 10 = 5
So 7759-01-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
