Synthesis of 2,5-Dihydroxy-3,6-bis-(2-hydroxybenzyl)pyrazine

A short synthesis of the title compound, a model for investigating a proposed biomimetic photo-oxygenation leading to a bicyclomycin analogue, is described.Photo-oxygenation studies proved to be impractical owing to the complete insolubility of this compo
