The complex (η5-C5H5)Co(triphenylphosphine)[η1(N)-N(O)(methyl)] is a mononuclear η1(N)-nitrosoalkyl cobalt complex derived from the reaction of (η5-C5H5)Co(PPh3)2 with aliphatic nitro compounds, such as nitromethane (R = Me). In this structure, the cobalt center is coordinated by a cyclopentadienyl (Cp) ligand, a triphenylphosphine (PPh3) ligand, and an η1(N)-bound nitrosoalkyl group (N(O)Me), where the nitroso nitrogen atom is singly bonded to the metal. This type of complex represents a stable intermediate in the conversion of nitro compounds to nitroso derivatives under mild conditions.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 78305-64-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,8,3,0 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 78305-64:
(7*7)+(6*8)+(5*3)+(4*0)+(3*5)+(2*6)+(1*4)=143
143 % 10 = 3
So 78305-64-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

The treatment of cobalt nitrosyl anion at low temperature with various alkylating agents leads to the formation of a series of alkyl nitrosyl complexes. At room temperature in the presence of PPh//3 , these complexes undergo an NO migratory insertion process to form the corresponding series of nitrosoalkane complexes, which can be isolated and characterized. It was demonstrated in one case that the nitrosoalkane ligand can be reductively removed as the corresponding amine by treatment of the complex with LiAlH//.
