The chemical compound "(C4H9)3SnCH(CH3)CH(C6H5)CO2CH3" is a complex organotin compound with a molecular formula of C21H31O2Sn. It consists of a central tin (Sn) atom bonded to three butyl (C4H9) groups and a unique organic moiety. This moiety features a methyl (CH3) group, a phenyl (C6H5) group, and a carbomethoxy (CO2CH3) group attached to a central carbon atom, which is also bonded to the tin. The compound is characterized by its steric bulk due to the three butyl groups and the presence of an aromatic ring, which may influence its chemical reactivity and physical properties. Organotin compounds like this are often used in various applications, such as catalysts, stabilizers, and biocides, due to their unique chemical properties.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 78887-85-1 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,8,8,8 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 78887-85:
(7*7)+(6*8)+(5*8)+(4*8)+(3*7)+(2*8)+(1*5)=211
211 % 10 = 1
So 78887-85-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

ORGANOTIN HYDRIDE ADDITIONS TO E- AND Z-TRISUBSTITUTED ETHYLENES.SYNTHESIS OF SOME NEW FUNCTIONALLY SUBSTITUTED ORGANOTIN COMPOUNDS

Podesta, J. C.,Chopa, A. B.,Ayala, A.D.

, p. 163 - 170 (2007/10/02)

The syntheses of some new functionally substituted organotin compounds are reported. The results indicate that the additions of tri-n-butyltin and tri-phenyltin hydrides to trisubstituted ethylenes (where one substituent is either a carbomethoxy or a nitrile group) proceed smoothly to give high yields of organotin adducts and that the reactions are stereoselective.Evidence concerning the reversibility of the free radical forming step is presented.
