Zhou, Xing-Hua,Davies, Joshua,Huang, Su,Luo, Jingdong,Shi, Zhengwei,Polishak, Brent,Cheng, Yen-Ju,Kim, Tae-Dong,Johnson, Lewis,Jen, Alex
scheme or table, p. 4437 - 4444 (2011/10/09)
A series of phenyltetraene-based nonlinear optical (NLO) chromophores 1a-c with the same donor and acceptor groups, but different tetraene bridges that are partly connected by various sizes of aliphatic rings, have been synthesized and systematically inve
Solvent-free Claisen condensation of isophorone and verbenone with para-hydroxyethylaminobenzaldehydes
Davis, Matthew C.,Sathrum, Aaron J.
, p. 921 - 926 (2007/10/03)
A solvent-free Claisen condensation between isophorone or verbenone on two para-hydroxyethylaminobenzaldehydes is described. The method provides the condensation products quickly and, in most cases, without chromatography. Copyright Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
Synthesis of an isophorone-based nonlinear optical chromophore
Davis, Matthew C.,Chafin, Andrew P.,Hollins, Richard A.,Baldwin, Lawrence C.,Erickson, Eric D.,Zarras, Peter,Drury, Elliott C.
, p. 3419 - 3429 (2007/10/03)
The synthesis of a "CLD-type" nonlinear optical chromophore incorporating the isophorone unit to rigidize the polyene segment is described. The synthesis required seven steps with an overall yield of 17%.
