Some New Organotin(IV) Trifluoroacetates

Trisbenzyltin(IV) trifluoroacetate , bisbenzyltin(IV) bistrifluoroacetate , bis-n-propyltin(IV) bistrifluoroacetate and n-propyl-n-butyltin(IV) bistrifluoroacetate have been prepared by metathetical reactions of the corresponding organotin(IV) chlorides with silver trifluoroacetate in dichloromethane.The compounds have been characterised on the basis of their elemental and thermal analyses and their IR and 19F and 1H NMR spectra.
