The uses of transition-metal carbene complexes for organic and organometallic synthesis were discussed. It was observed that the organic and organometallic compounds were prepared through [2+2] cycloaddition reactions between M-C double and C-C unsaturated bonds. It was also observed that the osmium-αalkenylphosphine complexes were formed from alkylphosohine compounds by dehydrogenation of an alkyl substituent of the phosphine. The results show the development of synthetic methods for the preparation of coordinated ligands with a variable number of donor groups.
